Y&T--In Rock We Trust (1984)
Rating--4.8

Really not much more than background metal, though a few tunes rise above the mediocrity. Musically, it's a bit of a Great White/Quiet Riot mix--though a bit more ballsy than both, I suppose. Not strict Cali glam, in any case. Vocally, leadman Dave Meniketti comes across in the raspy vein of Coverdale, Hagar, and a tougher DuBrow.
The heavy and sharp "Masters and Slaves" is the top highlight, with "Break Out Tonight!" and (Your Love Is) Drivin' Me Crazy being palatable as well.
The band's early-80's releases were their strongest, though the '85 followup 'Down For the Count' is also an overlooked release.
