Cold Day in Hell--RealAudio
Dave Meniketti's Hagar-like voice still has some bite to it, as the band tries to resurrect its career. The music is dotted with bluesy-metal chops, and in places they
can get downright nasty. The songwriting isn't very consistent, though, which offsets an otherwise strong guitar sound.
Opening track "Long Way Down" has a nice slow burn, and nasty attitude seeps through "Cold Day in Hell". "Pretty Prison" moves with a smooth swagger, "21st Century"
shows off some high-neck note rolling, and both "I'm Lost" and "Confusion" are decent tracks.
The band will attempt one more comeback (in '97) before Meniketti will
turn his attention to tribute albums and the sort.
