Widowmaker--Blood and Bullets (1992)
Rating--7.8
The first major post-Twisted Sister effort from Dee Snider. Heavy songs, but a
bit more on the commercial side than what the band would soon progress to.
An excellently mixed album, with solid drum and bass work behind Al Pitrelli's
Lynch/DeMartini style riffing. Don't expect the make-up or rock anthems
from Dee this time--it's all serious, pissed off rock. The tightness of the
group would only shine even brighter on the next (and last) disc.
Highlights include "Gone Bad", "Calling For You", "The Lonely Ones", and the
evil "Reason To Kill". Fans of Dokken, Ratt, and
Lynch Mob should check this
out.
HOT CHOPS: On "Reason To Kill" the bass thumping while the guitar churns
out evil riffs and runs (think Lynch Mob) is slow head-bobbing heaven...
