White Lion--Mane Attraction (1991)
Rating--7.1
Leave Me Alone--RealAudio
More slow/mid-tempo tracks here than on the previous, but the riffs are still around. A good buy for the strong fan, and it
can usually be found in the cheap bins.
"Leave Me Alone" is the top groover on the disc, with sass dripping everywhere,
and a ripping solo.
"Lights and Thunder," "Warsong," "She's Got Everything," and "Out With the Boys" all have their riff-rocking
moments. Also, this release features a remake of their own song "Broken Heart" off of their debut; a good single.
Somewhat
overlooked is the bluesy tribute to Steve Ray Vaughn, "Blue Monday," which is a nice instrumental piece in the "Little Wing"
vein.
Overall this is a decent release, but
the songs aren't as cohesive as before, and a number of the riffs seem to be for show rather than as part of the big picture. Again,
good for the strong fan, or for the disciple of the guitar.
