WASP - The Neon God Part 2 - The Demise (2004/Sanctuary)
Rating - 8.5

At a point in time where WASP appeared to be on the precipice of mediocrity, Blackie Lawless comes roaring back with a vengeance of an album. After a couple of somewhat redundant offerings, ‘Neon God Part 2’ is a crackling and vibrant affair that hearkens to the band’s ‘90s glory. With songs that flow and attack with regularity, and songwriting that showcases the creativity and passion of Lawless, this is a welcome return of one of metal’s dark icons.
Every track stands out, with consistency being one of the words of choice. "Resurrector" is a ripping piece with a great solo, while "Clockwork Mary" starts acoustic before shifting into a caustic and swaggering kick-in. "The Demise" builds to a peak, and "Destinies to Come" is a strong prelude to the album’s finale. That comes in the form of "The Last Redemption," a 13-plus minute track that effectively mixes heavy and light sections throughout.
As stated before, all the other tracks have their shining moments as well, as this is a tasty offering of creative/conceptual metal.
