W.A.S.P.--First Blood... Last Cuts (1993/Capitol)
Rating--8.0

Sunset and Babylon--RealAudio
The first of the band's "greatest hits" releases (not including the live disc, that is). The title hints at finality... but in actuality this disc is the result of many GH collections-- wrapping up a record contract with a label.
There's a fistful of remixes from the band's early catalog, and a couple of new tracks as well. In all, a nice overview of the band, and a good menagerie of tunes.
Each of the classics pull up memories, and the remixes offer slight variations-- though nothing major.
Disc opener "Animal" was previously hard to come by on CD, so it's a nice inclusion. New track "Sunset and Babylon" has a similar feel to "Blind in Texas," and the analogous "Rock and Roll to Death" is carefree and bar-rowdy.
