W.A.S.P.--Double Live Assassins (1998/CMC)
Rating--8.2
The band's second on-stage offering, following 1987's 'Live in the Raw'. Blackie shows that after 15 years in the biz he still has a great voice, and the show is laced
with thick distortion and heaviness. From the 'KFD' tour, this is a nice mix of the various stage's of W.A.S.P.'s career.
The show starts with a steamrolling medley that
includes parts of "On Your Knees," "I Don't Need No Doctor," "Hellion," and "Chainsaw Charlie". The crowd plays a big part in the chorus of "Animal," and other
fueled-rockers include "Little Death" and "Mean Man".
Solid live staples abound: "Wild Child," "Killahead," "The Headless Children," "The Idol," and the
band's 'Crimson Idol' medley.
