Super-Charger Hell - A Tribute to White Zombie (2000/Dwell)
Rating--7.0
I'm a Legend--RealAudio
This is another of the many Dwell tributes-- a label you should really check out if you're into tributes, as they have one for just about every metal act, it seems. As
one might imagine, nasty distortion is pretty much a must if you're going to cover Zombie, and most the bands here comply nicely.
"I'm a Legend" and "Feed the
Gods" are perhaps the top spots, with "Thunderkiss '65" and the excellent "Black Sunshine" making strong marks as well. "Blur the Technicolor" also hits the radar near
disc's end.
While none are really better than the originals (but when are they ever, save for Nevermore's "Love Bites"?), Zombie fans should enjoy this project well enough.
