Vio-lence--Eternal Nightmare (1988/Mechanic)
Rating--6.7
Calling in the Coroner--RealAudio
A thrash classic, as this is a hard release to come by on CD. Vio-lence brings to the table the early, biting Bay-Area sound, with bits of
Annihilator, Overkill, and early Anthrax. A trebled, technical feel to the music, though the
fast, semi-spoken vocals make things somewhat repetitive.
The frantic title song has some great guitar shredding, and both "Bodies on Bodies" and "Kill on
Command" are also fast tracks.
Some good thrash grooving moves "Phobophobia," while a cutting pulse seeps through "Calling in the Coroner".
