Runaround--RealAudio
This album had some of the better, more solid radio hits of the Sammy days, in that they rocked out moreso than many of the other AOR tracks during his reign. There are a few throwaways sprinkled in, but overall a solid disc, and great to throw in the car deck every so often. Another reminder of the longevity of Eddie and the boys; they can still rock...
Opener "Poundcake" is good, with a strong chorus. The heavier "Judgement Day" has a nice little chug drive, and the sassy and riffy "In N' Out" is tasty as well.
Semi-hit "Runaround" is a total groover, radio track "Top of the World" has a high-flying chorus, and "Right Now" has its moments---including an intro that has been oft-used during athletic events.
The strutting "Man on a Mission" is one of those tracks that will be forever overlooked unless you actually own the album, and "The Dream is Over" could have been another radio single had the band wanted to go that route.
HOT CHOPS: The slow-down mid section of "Runaround" has a great seductive feel to it, with the mesmerizing Sammy line: "...You make it hotter..."
A mewling treat...
