Valley's Eve - The Atmosphere of Silence (1999/B.Mind)
Rating - 8.2

This sophomore release is more of the same, but more consistently heavy. The band's only real downside is the occasional "same-sounding" aspect of their songs' choruses. However, the music is strong power/prog, and there are some tracks that (along with the later releases of Kamelot) are the most reminiscent of the band Conception (to be found anywhere in metal!).
"Religion War" is heavy and good, "Room of Answers" has a chunking chorus laid over keys, and "My Last Breath" has some mid-paced chugging. The tracks "A Raven Beside Me" and "Power of Soul" are almost pure Conception, showing that the Norwegian band has to be an influence. Both "When Sun and Stars Refuse to Shine" and "Place of Nightmares" are strong cuts as well.

TRACK LIST: Religion War/Room of Answers/My Last Breath/When Sun and Stars Refuse to Shine/A Raven Beside Me/A Human's Load/Place of Nightmares/ Close Your Eyes/Nostalgia/Power of Soul/My Inner Vision
