Ugly Kid Joe--Motel California (1996)
Rating--7.5

Dialogue--RealAudio
The focus seems to be slipping a bit on this album, which now appears to be the band's last. The sound is very similiar to the previous album, but it's just not quite as aggressive or catchy. Still solid, though, and if you're a fan you'll enjoy it.
The Joes, who have reportedly broken up, fall victim to a syndrome that has plagued a number of solid acts--solid albums, but no commercial support or recognition, which financially push them to disband. Others include Tesla and Skid Row, and it's a damn shame. Joe rocks with conviction like these other two, but with much more tongue-in-cheek--just the way you'd expect it!
Highlights include "Dialogue" (great groove), "Sandwich", "Would You Like to be There", "Shine", and "Strange".
