Disciples of the Watch--RealAudio
After maturing a bit, Testament comes at you with a very distinctive sound. That maturation process, in fact, seems to take place about midway through this album. The first few songs are rather plodding and boring; the fast drums and guitars sound like bad imitations of Anthrax and Overkill songs. However, the second half of the disc shows the form that the band will later greatly improve upon: driving grooves, great drum rhythms, and power-pitched vocals.
Highlights include "Disciples of the Watch," "The Preacher," "Nobody's Fault," "A Day of Reckoning," and the title song.
