Trivium formed in Florida around 2000, and quickly gained recognition for their talented musicianship in the new-thrash field. This debut offering is a
bit rough around the edges, as the production and mix isn't particularly great, at least when compared to the band's vastly improved followups. The vocal style
(which will alternate throughout the group's releases) is primarily shouty, with a few clean sections mixed in. There are guitar solos present, which is a plus. Often the
newer thrash/core bands will forego solos entirely, choosing to ignore the bands that gave birth to their musical style of choice. Trivium, however, makes sure to
let the six strings wail. While good, the quality of the solos will increase dramatically in the coming years. TRACK LIST:
