The band's second release, and still in the midst of their "first" era, sound-wise. This offering ponders along in Sabbathy/doom fashion most of the time, rarely establishing any sort of good flow within the songs. Those swifter moments do peek through every now and then, but the big creative breakthrough is still some five years away.
Opener "Pray For the Dead" breaks into a mid-paced rhythm from time to time, and "Gideon" is one of the disc's faster tracks. Both "Fear No Evil" and "The Wish" have good second halves.
