Tad Morose - Modus Vivendi (2003/Century Media)
Rating - 9.2

Tad Morose has turned out several quality metal offerings of late, but 'Modus Vivendi' now stands as their strongest. It is heavy, moving, and dripping with distortion and atmosphere. Vocalist Urban Breed was always unique and effective, but has now thrust himself towards the forefront of the mood-setting Power Metal vocalists who are to be found today. This disc breathes with life, and is also injected with plenty of metallic adrenaline.
Included here are ten TM tracks, plus three covers--with all 13 being strong rides. The steady "Afraid to Die" has an great pre-chorus, "When the Spirit Rules the World" is a sliding and pulling treat, and "Life in a Lonely Grave" is a snaking and mesmerizing track, with some otherworldly vocal work by Breed.
Other good cuts include the chugging "Anubis," the cutting flow of "No Mercy," "Cyberdome" and its methodical pace... and all the others, as well.
The cover tracks are born from the molds of Uriah Heep, Abba, and Accept.
