Tad Morose--Matters of the Dark (2002/Century Media)
Rating--8.6
Another Way--RealAudio
The band follows up 2001's strong 'Undead' with another solid collection of atmospheric power metal tunes. The grooves aren't quite as thick and
menacing as on the last release, but a positive effect is a more melodious and rhythmic flow to the songs -- without
losing any testosterone. The combination of ambiance, songwriting, and superior vocals make Tad Morose one of the top
power groups out today.
Virtually every song is pleasing to the ear. Both "The Devil's Finger" and "Don't Pray For Me" are nasty movers, there is a steady and heavy
flow to "Ethereal Soul," and both "Another Way" and "Reason of the Ghost" are thick and solid. Again, each of the other tracks are tops as well, making this a thorough and
complete release.
