Luca Turilli - King of the Nordic Twilight (1999/LMP)
Rating - 7.1

The first solo offering from the guitarist from Rhapsody, the music and songwriting here follows along the same general lines. The big choruses and symphonic sounds are still present, but at times the bombastic qualities aren't quite as noticeable. Instead, there are some Kamelot-like tendencies, as well as a little modern Riot. A decent offering overall (in terms of song quality), but nothing groundbreaking. Fans of the Rhapsody style of metal will obviously find a bit more to be pleased about, of course.
"Legend of Steel" is a top spot, with other good tracks being "Lord of the Winter Snow," "Where Heroes Lie," and the title track.
