Tesla--Replugged Live (2001/CMC)
Rating--8.3
Hang Tough--RealAudio
A two-disc live offering taken from the band's 2001 "reunion" tour. Extremely tight playing, as the band parlays the sense that they never even broke up. Jeff Keith's
voice is solid, and the recording/production sound is top shelf. The only real drawback is that there are very few surprises with the song selection. The band sticks with
the usual singles and hits, and misses the chance to include some of its many hidden catalog gems.
Some of the best tunes performed are "Cumin' Atcha Live,"
"EZ Come, EZ Go," "Hang Tough," "Mama's Fool," "What U Give," and "Modern Day Cowboy".
There are a couple of unexpected selections, such as "Lazy Days,
Crazy Nights," "We're No Good Together," and "Freedom Slaves," but many longtime fans would have loved to have heard burners like "Flight to Nowhere," "Rock Me
to the Top," "Lady Luck," and "Action Talks". But ah well. At least the band is back together, eh? Yep.
