Lord of the Storm - mp3

This Vancouver-based unit plays a form of extreme power metal that mixes musical parts of Iron Maiden, Falconer, and Running Wild, among a few others. The band employs two different vocalists -- a semi-clean voice, and an screeching shrieker. Vocally, the closest comparison may be some of Wicked Angel's material. There are plenty of notes within the songs (instead of simple chords), and fast double-bass drums assist with the often adrenalized pace. Once the vocals grow on you (and they do), this evolves into a really solid disc.
Virtually every one of the thirteen tracks featured here have good and solid moments. Among the standouts include the galloping opener "Fear on the Bridge," the sliding and chasing chords of "Lord of the Storm," and "Deadly Sinners." But again -- nearly every cut leaves a near-searing mark.
