1. State your name, instrument, and band, for the record.
I am Shawn Drover, drummer for the band Eidolon!!!!!!!!
2. Do you write music with a specific listening audience in mind, or do you just write whatever feels good at the time you're working on a project?
I always write what sounds good to me - If I were to ever try to write music to make other people happy, it would drive me insane, because everybody has a
different opinion on everything - some people love the fast stuff we do, some people love the slower crunchy music we do, so there is no way you can please
everybody - I wouldnt want to, really - I do this for the band 1st, the people who like us 2nd, and that's about it.
3. What were the last three CDs (other than your own) that you listened to?
I believe that would be - "dance of death - iron maiden " " death cult armageddon - dimmu borgir" and " the puppet master - king diamond".
4. Do you listen to your own band's CDs on a regular basis?
Not at all, man - by the time we mix each record, we have heard each song over 50 times from writing it, recording it, etc. to me, it's good to take a breather from our
own music and step away from it once it is completed for a bit - once I go back and listen to it, it becomes fresh again.
5. What do you see (happening right now) as good things for the future of heavy metal music?
It seems to me that it does pick up a bit of steam with each year in North America - in Europe, metal is totally thriving - this is not the case here in North America,
unfortunately - hopefully in time, it may be thriving here as well.

6. Was there a "defining moment" that steered you towards metal? A particular band, album, movie, concert, etc.. that was a major influence on your career (and music listening) choice?
Black Sabbath was the 1st total heavy metal band that I had heard - before that, RUSH was my main musical influence, and still is, really!!! Judas Priest, once I
discoverd them, quickly became and still is my all-time favorite heavy metal band, period!!!!!!!!
7. It's dinner time at the Drover household! You can invite any three guests (music-related), either past or present. Who will get to sit at your round table?
RANDY RHOADS, NEIL PEART AND ALEX LIFESON.
8. While flying across to Japan for a show at Budokan, your plane goes down. You and Tom Hanks swim towards an island... but unfortunately Tom turns into shark bait. Anyyyway, once on the island, a FedEx box washes up with a
disc player, a crapload of batteries, and... three CDs. What three CDs would you like to have with you, while stranded on your one-man island for a verrry long time?
1. "CARCASS - HEARTWORK "
2. " RUSH - HEMESPHERES "
3. " JUDAS PRIEST - DEFENDERS OF THE FAITH "
9. What (if any) current metal bands would you pay to go see in concert?
Man, there's a lot of bands I would pay to see, really - dimmu borgir, cradle of filth, judas priest - I could go on forever, really.
10. Dream gig time: Eidolon is playing a festival with three other bands. Who joins you on the bill?
Lucky for me, I have allready shared the same bill with Judas Priest in 2001 in Germany ( bang your head festival ) I would have to say for my other 2........Ozzy
Osbourne circa 1982/with randy rhoads - my other would be probably Iron Maiden.
11. Some feel "Coma Nation" is much thrashier than the band's previous efforts. Was it a conscious decision to go in that musical direction, or did it just kinda happen?
We have had speed metal tunes as far back as our 1st record ( zero hour - 1996 ) so really, it's nothing new to us - having said that, yes, there is a bit more thashier
elements that on some of our previous records, but it wasn't really intentional.
12. What does the immediate future hold for Eidolon? Tour plans, future albums/projects, etc.
Well, our new record has just been released, which is called " APOSTLES OF DEFIANCE " , which is easily our best record!!!!!!! as far as any tour plans, we are
planning on playing some Canadian live shows in early 2004 - other than that, I am not sure, really.
