The New Jersey power/prog kings' second overall release, and first with the impressive Russell Allen on vocals. The band improves in areas from its debut, and the music is both intricate and steady. However, the sound will become more concrete and riff-inclusive in the future, leading to a true breakthrough on the following disc (where the production will also take a small step up).
Several highlights spot the map, including "Dressed to Kill," "The Edge of Forever," "The Ascension," and "Secrets". A necessary addition for the SX fans out there.
