Power prog, with plenty of Stratovarius overtones. Both technically and musically talented, but the band has not fully gelled with the songwriting yet. Plenty of Malmsteen-like runs, and Graham Bonnet style vox---which will become smoother in the near future.
The absolute nasty riffing of "Absinthe and Rue" is a definite high point, and a number of other tracks stand out as well: "Masquerade," "Taunting the Notorious," "'Rapture or Pain," and "Thorns of Sorrow."
A good group which will improve in the future. Solid across-the-spectrum intricate metal.
