The Truth Ain't Kind--RealAudio
Solid power/prog. Conception riffing is present, and at times the atmosphere is there as well.
Though not as full-blown, there are also 'Operation: Mindcrime'-like chops intermixed. A tasty little treat indeed...
The metallic and staccato churn of "The Truth Ain't Kind" begins the endeaver, with the chunky and cutting "Dial 911" following
up strong with a winding and moving chorus.
Songs like "Tainted Silence," the stalking "Total Void," and the paced and
sharp "Hades" all cater to the band's many strengths.
"Escape From Reality" holds several high points, as a head-moving
groove lurks within its chorus, and there is also a Conception-like Spanish/tribal interlude at one point! "Tomorrow's Eve," while
a bit slower, is still accompanied by some heavy sections--including a crunching drive about midway through.
A splendid
offering; a spin of the second release is definitely anticipated.
