Stratovarius--Twilight Time (1992/T&T)
Rating--8.4
Break the Ice--RealAudio
A much more crunching distortion sound the second time around, and this CD actually stands as one of the band's best. Its soon-to-be majestic ways begin to
descend, as there's more key work, swifter tracks, and so forth.
Opening cut "Break the Ice" is nasty and driving, and is matched by the prancing razor-fest that
is "The Hills Have Eyes".
Faster tracks include "The Hands of Time" and "Out of the Shadows," and both "Madness Strikes at Midnight" and the title song are good
as well. "Metal Frenzy" is a pulsing, paced little instrumental.
