Praise-mp3

This supergroup of sorts boasts a collaboration between guitarist Neal Schon and vocalist Jeff Scott Soto. While there is a definite Hardline feel/sound to many of the tracks, the songwriting just isn't as solid and catchy. In terms of heaviness, the material falls somewhere between Hardline and the thickest of Schon's more famous band, Journey. This is good hard rock, but overall it just misses the mark -- especially considering the gifted participants.
The energetic "New Position" is a pleaser, and "Praise" is another high point. "Periled Divide" is on the slower side, with all of "Highest Ground," "My Sanctuary," and "Friends 2 Lovers" being strong AOR fare.
