Crazy Again--RealAudio
A metal grunge feel at times, but not in any real negative sense of the term. The atmosphere and distortion sound of
Alice in Chain's 'Dirt', perhaps. The band can go from heavy and rocking to deep mood pieces with ease. After a somewhat
mundane start, the disc simply doesn't let up after the fourth track, making this a real good ride from a band with some nice creative talent.
"Rest Our Souls" has a stop-and-go, winding and methodical pace, and features some great emotional singing. The churning and
constant backbone of "Wimstis" is heavy, and a thick guitar/bass mix allows "Crazy Again" to shine as well.
"In My Head"
is one of the disc's faster tracks, good flow is shown on "Monastery," and a grooving distorted-chord drive fuels "Tin Can Alien."
The band really impresses on two acoustic tracks--"Reflections" and "Stillborn"--as they are both chock-full of emotion and atmosphere, and also show
the band's flexibility in style. Good stuff.
