Sacred Steel--Bloodlust (2000/Metal Blade)
Rating--8.0
Master of Thy Fate--RealAudio
Tinges of both Manowar and Hammerfall (just look at the song titles!), and some early, classic
Maiden sounds as well. Instead of being crystal-smooth, the vocals display a bit of a high-end edge. Good range is shown, however, and
overall the tracks on whole are very solid.
A driving chorus marks the fast "By the Wrath of the Unborn," and other swift tracks include "Metal is War" and the
punishing "Dark Forces".
Both "Sacred Warriors of Steel" and "Lust for Blood" are strong, and "Throne of Metal" follows with a gallop run. The churning drive
rhythm of "Master of Thy Fate" is an album high point, and yet another memorable cut from this fantasy/concept offering.
