Slave Raider--Take the World By Storm (1988)
Rating--4.1
Well! Really bad poser, poodle-rock. Imagine totally cheesy Slaughter,
Kix, or Quiet Riot. Yeah, you get my point...
Extremely heavy on the
image and makeup, but simplistic on talent. Still, despite all the complaints, straight-level glam-heads and party rockers will
probably enjoy this. But if you have moved on in the metal world at all, avoid...
With vocals that sound a little like Blackie
Lawless and a little like Mark Slaughter, there are plenty of "Ughs" and "Ooooh, Yeahs!" to go with the harispray. The only real
song with a whole lot of saving grace on the disc is "Burnin' Too Hot", which bumps along with Kix-ish sass and style. A few other
songs have moments, such as "Survival of the Fittest", but are either total cliche or way too cheddar. All told, a couple of years too
late to jump on the hair-but-no-talent bandwagon...
