Stuck Mojo--Pigwalk (1996)
Rating--7.4
Twisted--RealAudio
Extremely aggressive riffs, over which almost-total rap vocals are layered. Many of the choruses break into more traditional
singing, but this is a fairly unique metal experience, all-in-all. Some comparisons would be Sevendust,
the heavy hitting pull-offs of Mr. Blackwell, and the heaviest styles of Rage Against the Machine. Pounding
drums, and distorted vox---a little like White Zombie, though more metal and less industrial.
Two absolutely killer, skull-crushing highlights: "(Here Comes) the Monster" and "Twisted". These two have riffs for miles, and the
band's guitar sound (which actually sounds a lot like At the Gates!!) is flaunted in razor-sharp style.
Others have excellent walk chugs, like "Mental Meltdown," where there are some pull-offs and riffs mixed into the band's almost thrash
style. "Down
Breeding," "Only the Strong Survive," "Despise," and "Animal" are also on display.
Hardcore, angry music---and a great
live band. Be ready for the moshing, or stand on the fringes, bucky.
