Black-N-Blue Collar Man--RealAudio
Sort of a blues/L.A. attitute feel, a la the Crue, Aerosmith, and
L.A. Guns, except with a heavy and modern '90s feel. Also touches on the somewhat raw work that
Ugly Kid Joe achieved with their last couple of albums.
Vox are a little like Faster Pussycat's
leadman, but without the little whine. Again, sort of an updated '80s-attitude-band sound.
Riff-induced fret and chord work drives "Black-N-Blue Collar Man" and "Down to the River," while the bluesy "Whip It Up" is sassy as well.
A light to heavy buildup strengthens "It's Not Me," and the chunky chorus of "Over the Edge" is a disc highlight.
A strong showing, and with continued songwriting maturity these guys could make some decent waves in the future.
