Soilwork - Stabbing the Drama (2005/Nuclear Blast)
Rating - 8.1

The sixth studio release from the band follows the same general formula as their past two, with aggressive music layered with shouty and clean vocals. The album is very strong at its onset, but slacks off somewhat over the second half.
A rapid-trilling riff cuts through the title track, and "One With the Flies" has plenty of chug to go with a pulling chorus. "Stalemate" attacks in patented Soilwork fashion, and both "The Crestfallen" and "Blind Eye Halo" pass the test.
Some really melodic singing shows up in the still-heavy "Nerve," highlighting the other side of the coin for the band. While this disc isn’t their strongest overall, it should have enough to please the majority of their recent fans.
