Slaughter--Fear No Evil (1995)
Rating--8.0

Searchin'--RealAudio
The Slaughter boys (like label mates Warrant) decide to go for broke on this one, attempting to change their sound to a bit on the harder side. Just listen to the first two tracks and you can see what I mean. Good 80's style riffs (ala Cinderella, Dokken) and of course, Mark Slaughter's one-of-a-kind ballads. He also alters his voice slightly on the track "Searchin'" for an interesting Ace Frehley vocal sound. That one is a personal favorite, along with the heavy "Outta My Head".
Some might want to skip the sophomore effort 'Wild Life' and head for this one--a much better attempt. Anyone who enjoyed the first Slaughter album's shifts from raunchy party rock to moving ballads to quaint little instrumentals should definitely give this disc a spin.
