Cannibal Girl Island--RealAudio
An indie artist from California, Skitzo is fronted by Lance Ozanix--a performer whose most heralded attribute is that he can vomit a green stream upon command. He's been on the Jerry Springer Show before, and the band's song titles mirror similar extreme themes. Now, all barfing aside, this is quite simply some very good, strong metal. A thick distortion sound, sounding a bit like Manowar, a little Euro power, some recent Armored Saint, and even some Slayer axe work. Tons of slabby chops throughout, as just about every song is good. With a sound and songwriting knack like this, there's no need for a schtick. Just play the metal, guys!
Dark vocals and nasty chunks highlight "POA - Prisoners of America," "Cannibal Girl Island" is slower and groovy, and both "Insane Empire" and "Political Entrails" are bottom-heavy and thick.
Again--just about every track is worth mentioning in one way or another. Solid music; the image isn't necessary.
