Rating--8.8
Peppermint Tribe--RealAudio
All Alright--RealAudio
A breakthrough album, at least to those who know and appreciate good metal when they hear it. The guitar sound is even sharper on this disc, and the songs have more texture and attitude. This one is definitely worth owning, as it's basically highlight after highlight--with several of them being absolute standouts. The songwriting talents are top-notch, and a real improvement over the debut.
Highlights include "Freedom", "God of 42nd Street", "Peppermint Tribe", "The Lizard", "All Alright", "All I Want", "Body Bags", "World Goes Round", "Chanel", and the tremendous power ballad "Love is on the Way". Yep, you're right--that's a lot of good songs.
HOT CHOPS--The strut and drive of "Peppermint Tribe" is excellent. Also, the emotional yearning of "All I Want". This is an art the band will come close to perfecting in the future.
