Sinergy--To Hell and Back (2000/Nuclear Blast)
Rating--8.4
Return to the Fourth World--RealAudio
Vocalist Kimberly Goss has some great pipes, and when combined with the tight distortion and chops you have a truly unique metal experience. The music
isn't quite as speedy/technical as on the first release, but is still pure power. It hearkens back to old, ripping Megadeth and Wylde-harmonic Ozzy, with a distinct
European flair to it all. Solid material.
Numerous tracks stand out, including the fast opener "The Bitch is Back," "Midnight Madness," the rhythmic and thumping
"Lead Us to War," "Last Escape," and the constant and chop-full "Gallowmere".
The nasty "Return to the Fourth World" may be the disc's top spot, and a little bonus
is the metallized version of Blondie's "Hanging on the Telephone".
