Shadow Gallery--Carved in Stone (1995/Magna Carta) Rating--6.9

Symphonic/progressive metal, as this is musically similar to Royal Hunt. There are some light bits of Stratovarius-- but not really enough to draw a strong comparison. The muscianship is very good, the singing strong, and the like. Overall, however, this is a only good (but not great) release, as nothing particularly spectacular stands out. Nice for fans of the genre.
Both "Crystalline Dream" and "Deeper Than Life" are top highlights, and "Cliffhanger" and "Warcry" are good as well. "Ghostship" is a 20 minute-plus track, with good parts intermixed throughout.
