Second Coming--Second Coming (1998/Capitol) Rating--6.5

An early Alice in Chains/STP feel in places, as there are thick chords and moody, deep vocals. There's one truly standout cut, but overall the disc ends up being a bit inconsistent.
"Soft" is excellent and chunky, and is by far the best track to be found. Others try to pull the weight, with "Tonight" being winding and heavy, and "Unknown Rider" being a romping tune. Both "Confessional" and "Electric Head" make the cut as well.
The band certainly shows promise; it will be interesting to see which direction they go from here, being on a major label and all...
