Shy England--Misspent Youth (1990/MCA)
Rating--7.1
Never Trust a Stranger--RealAudio
A Slaughter/Crue feel for the most part, as the songs have decent
grooves and a smooth-yet-tough finish. Power vox with high range; another of those "riff" albums that got caught in the early
nineties metal release graveyard, and never really had much of a chance...
The strong and slashing "Never Trust a Stranger" is the disc's highest point, and a number
of other tracks make headway as well: "Burnin' Up," "Money," "Broken Heart," and "Love on the Line." The sassy "Make My Day"
hearkens back to the attitude of the aforementioned bands, as in all this is a definite above-average disc.
