Sevendust--Sevendust (1997)
Rating--7.4

Muted mega chuga-chugs, grooves galore, and deep-distortion riffs. Semi-sing/rap mix, along the lines of Rage Against the Machine
(and to a much lighter sense Stuck Mojo), and pure heaviness ala Mr. Blackwell.
After being featured on the '98 Ozzfest tour, these guys are poised to some waves. A decent enough offering, and very good for a debut.
A number of songs get the head grooving and pit moving, with "Terminator" perhaps being tops. Close behind are angry hitters
"Black," "Face," "Speak," and "Bitch".
As metal in the '90s continues to expand in style, I think this is one we're going to
hear more of. Nice fist-in-the-air mosh fare, and a good buy if you're looking to push your musical horizons a bit further away from
the same ol', same ol'.
