Scusi--Scusi (1998/Scusi)
Rating--5.8
Fresh distortion in places, though the disc fluctuates between heaviness and light acoustic work. The band is definitely
at its best when rocking out. Some tasty bar chops and lead runs dot the first part of the disc, and vocally Blue Oyster Cult
and Joe Satriani's murky pipes are brought to mind.
Opening track "What a Rush" is solid, and the driving "Dynamite Blonde" is good as well. Several other tunes show promise, but
none are as strong as those two.
If the band can find a nice niche centered around a strong distortion base, they'll be all
the better in the future.
