Dead Winter Dead--RealAudio
A concept story/album encompassing the events of the Bosnia/Sarajevo affair. This is a bit more of an "experimental" release for the band, as there's plenty of piano-based tracks and whatnot. Still heavy in places, but no longer the strictly power-driven sound of old.
Jon Oliva sings on a couple of the tracks, and co-produces the disc.
"This is the Time" has a expansive, big-sounding vocal chorus, and "Starlight" has some heavy moments, with a solid, late solo pickup.
"I Am" is heavier and winding, and both "Doesn't Matter Anyway" and the title track are chunky and good.
TRACK LIST: Overture/Sarajevo/This is the Time (1990)/I Am/Starlight/Doesn't Matter Anyway/This Isn't What We Meant/Mozart and Madness/Memory (Dead Winter Dead Intro)/Dead Winter Dead/One Child/Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)/Not What You See
