Solitude Aeturnus--Beyond the Crimson Horizon (1992)

Gothic, doom tinged metal, with vocals that melt between deepness and the slightly operatic. Pure mood, in any case. The music has some Sabbath arrangements, while also occasionally lapsing into Trouble -like bass-and-riff built grooves. A solid offering--supposedly some of their other work is even better.
"Seeds of the Desolate" is a heavy start, and both "Black Castle" and "The Final Sin" incoporate strong low-E riff work into their frames. The latter features some splendid cymbal work, and speeds up nicely near the end. Another good shift occurs in "The Hourglass."
Drink deeply from the cobblestone grail, and pass it on...
