Judgment Day--RealAudio
Rob Rock steps out on the solo trail after his departure from Impellitteri, and gets a good amount of help from 'Mr. Everything' Roy Z. The disc was produced by Z, and all of the songs were co-written between the two musicians as well. Another "bonus" addition is the lead work of Jake E. Lee, who provides the axechops on two songs.
Roy Z's guitar work sounds Maiden-like at times, and in other places the overall tone and atmosphere reminds of the recent Axel Rudi Pell material. While not quite having the stone-etched solidity and chiseled features of Impellitteri, this is still a solid release throughout.
Every track -- the intro through number eleven -- is mentionable. Among the more notable marks include the slashing and strong chord work of "One Way Out," the harmonic-laden, chugging drive of "Streets of Madness," and some simply bludgeoning work within the nasty track "Judgment Day".
"In the Night" is a darker, note-driven cut, while "All I Need" slices along nicely. Again--all the songs have their moments, and fans of melodic power metal should enjoy this one immensely.
