Rebel's Mother--The Dark Unknown (1998/Salvation)
Rating--7.1

Sorrow--RealAudio
Metal with Christian themes intermixed. Fairly smooth vocals for the most part, but some death growls show up as well. Also, the music itself is varied, as almost all of the songs mix really heavy sections with light back-offs. The help of some top-notch recording and production could yield some great atmospheric pieces from this three-person unit in the future.
The cutting and paced "Skull" is good, and is followed up by the heavy title track and sharp riff rhythm of "World of Hate".
A slow start to "Too Late" succumbs to a wicked and rolling kick-in, and the pulse stalk of "Sorrow" is strong. All of "Son of the Morning," "Death & Betrayal," and "Dawn" have their chunky and driving moments.
