Royal Hunt - Eye Witness (2003/Frontiers) Rating - 8.6 Edge of the World--RealAudio The band finally appears to be fully "comfortable" with John West on vocals, as the distortion, songwriting, and overall feel to this album is spot-on--which wasn't always the case on the past couple of releases. Virtually every track is a high point, as "Can't Let Go" features some slow cranking, "Edge of the World" and "Game of Fear" are both strong, and "Burning the Sun" is swift and chopping. Other good tunes include "Hunted," "Help Us God," the instrumental "5th Element" and the title track, which starts light before giving way to a great end-song pickup.
