Royal Hunt--Double Live in Japan (1999/Majestic)
Rating--8.1

Wasted Time--RealAudio
As the title indicates, this is a two-disc release recorded in Japan. DC Cooper is on vocals, which is a nice treat.
The first disc has a good live feel, with an excellent quality throughout. Highlights include "1348," "Wasted Time," and "Running Wild". However, there are numerous strong cuts which are omitted from the band's set-- including several from 'Moving Target'...
The second disc is the 'Paradox' album in its entirety. While the tracks are played flawlessly, the atmosphere isn't the same. There are quiet times when you cannot detect the crowd, which lends to much less of a "live" feel than the previous material. Perhaps the fans are unfamilar with the songs; perhaps it's the mixing. But whatever the reason, it is noticable.
