Rage--Reflections of a Shadow (1990)
Rating--7.3
Waiting For the Moon--RealAudio
Primarily still a three-man unit at this time, Rage's music is still strong and swift power metal, but not as "thick" as it will
become in the near future. Heavy double-bass work as usual, and vocalist Peavy is in the final bits of his "screechy" stage, as
he begins to solidfy from here on out.
Power and speed dot "True Face to Everyone," "Can't Get Out," "Wild Seed,"
and the title song. Top highlights are the mean and dirty grind of "Nobody Knows," and the strong verse rhythm and great
flowing chorus of "Waiting For the Moon."
Not quite as solid (in its entirety) as the future releases will become, but still
a great power metal release, and a must for all Rage fans. Better than a whole lot of U.S. releases around 1990, that's for sure...
