Rhino Bucket--Rhino Bucket (1990/Warner Brothers)
Rating--8.2
Even the Sun Goes Down--RealAudio
If you miss old-school, nasty, no-frills AC/DC, then give Rhino Bucket a spin. The vocals,
the distortion, and to a great extent even the songwriting smacks of the Bon Scott-era rockers. Not just a wannabe, though---
these guys are actually pretty good!
"Beg For Your Love" has a thumping and rolling chorus, and similar tracks "I'd
Rather Go Insane" and "Blood on the Cross" show the band has a knack for the steady groove.
A smooth,
intoxicating rhythm makes "Even the Sun Goes Down" a top highlight, and album closer "Ride the Rhino" is a rowdy end piece.
More above-average cuts show up via "One Night Stand," "Train Ride," and "Shot Down".
Ride the rhino... Uhh... yeah!
