Raven--Life's a Bitch (1987)
Rating--7.8
Both heavier and faster than the band's material from the past couple of years. The music is a massive improvement, as the
adrenalized pace and sharp distortion pushes the sound towards the area occupied by the likes of Iron
Maiden and Running Wild. There's lyrical improvement as well, which does make a
difference...
Thirteen tasty tracks, with almost all of them being strong listens. Among the top highlights are "The Savage
and the Hungry," "You're a Liar," "Fuel to the Fire," "Finger on the Trigger," and the title song. No real "singles" here--just a lot
of angry tunes. Great background music for the between-setlist downtime of a concert by the above bands.
